OpenGL opengl screen dimesnions

When using DirectX I can simply disable the Depth Buffer and my screen will always have a width and height of 2, assuming I set the fov to 45 and the depth of all objects to 0.5. Now I want something similar in opengl. How can I get the width and height in the 3d environment if im looking at the plane at depth 0.5 again. -CProgrammer
