how to get frames before passing to any DirecX game

hi all, i want to get the frames and do some editing before they pass to actual application/game. is DirectX APIs can be hooked? and how to do it? i think ''Flip'' function is the capturing point for getting frames, am i right? but i didnt know how to get tht point and to get data. if any 0ne know how to do tht, thn plz help. also i need any other suggestions. waiting for reply thx in advance Samreen
