thinking of making a tennis game
hi,
im thinking of making a 3d openGL tennis game, just two players with rackets, a ball and a court
i can do the ball physics.. but im just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to effectively interact the character animations (probably keyframed, loaded from 3ds format or whatever) with the ball?
thinking in terms mainly of collision detection between racket and ball i guess,
thanks for any input,
Hybrid
I''m not sure how to solve the problem with a perfect solid and nice function.
But you could always encapsulate the area around the tennis racket with some form of bounding box or sphere and check collisions with that against the ball.
But then again, I have no idea.
Personally I think it''s pretty hard to do a good working tennis game since the ball can end up in so many diffrent positions, and presuming how the player should react on all the diffrent positions the ball can have.
But maybe that''s just me complicating thins alot.
Good luck!
