How do I recover from this?

Recommended Posts

OK, my winmodem has caused another major problem (almost every problem I''ve had with linux is from that damn thing so I just ordered a new modem). Basicly, I tried to connect to the internet and konnect crashes, I get this in the stack trace, not sure if it''s usefull:

the same happens for the connection wizard too. I was wondering if I could just reinstall a specific debian package to get it working but I can''t work out which one, searching debians archive for konnect doesn''t turn up anything. I could just reinstall xandros when I get my new modem but I''m in the middle of doing a full upgrade so I really don''t want to lose 200MB + of downloads over a 56k connection. Can anyone help me out with this?

Such things may work on windows, when you''re dealing with registry corruption and such, but there''s no reason to believe a reinstall would affect this bug

I would go see if there are other drivers or other versions of the driver for that winmodem that you could try.
