how to stretchrect X8R8G8B8 to A8R8G8B8 ?

I want to use IDirect3DSurface9::GetDC(), it can receive X8R8G8B8, but not A8R8G8B8. But in texture alpha blending or pixel shader, all the values in X8 will be changed to 255 by the driver. What''s the use of X8? I can LockRect and copy byte-by-byte, but this way is slow. So is there any better way like stretchrect?
