Lets make a song
ok this is going to be really really difficult but hopefully anybody taking part can lear a lot of stuff
i propose to all the cubase users that we create a song.
What we do is create a song by passing information on to each other.
heres how it will work
i create the first 16 - 24 bars of a song, save the files and pass them on to the next guy. he then writes the next 16 - 24 bars saves all the work and passes it onto the next guy.
i know over time if people are using a lot of audio files that the thing will get huge so it will encourage looking at file sizes and things.
So anyone interested? More info and in depth guides will be given if there is anyine interested. i dont care if its just 1 of you or 10 of you, this believe it or not was a thing i did a few years ago with a very good friend of mine and you wouldnt beleive how much we learnt about cubase / cooledit / soundforge and many other bits and pieces. Its a hell of lot of fun as well as you are constantly trying to impress the next guy.
i have a website at http://www.fullf1.com where all the work can be stored and got ill give a private link to a private folder for people who want to take part in this.
so once again anyone interested? if so add me at rholding2000@hotmail.com on their msn messanger - if you use another messanger tell me of it and ill get it.
lets make some good music people.
There used to be a site (no idea what the name was) that ran a server and program that allowed people to collaborate over the internet and create MIDIs. You used a MIDI keyboard to record stuff and you could lay it over whatever portion of the song you wanted, and people can add on. I wish I knew what the place was and if it still existed, because back in the day I contributed to some pretty awesome songs and it was a blast.

contribute to this...obviously midi will be the way to go cos a midi file is a midi file in any language. the idea here is to make you self aware about restrictions and all sorts of other nusances that come up in real life. trust me it gets you thinking about all kind of stuff this.
mail me if you are interested.

MIDI :D
count me in
The only problem is that once I import midi files, some effects will be missing.

Using Noteworthy?
Nice idea but I''ve joined a few projects like this before and am actually in one right now with another composer. He and I are doing something quite unique. Instead of going several bars/measures between turns, we are trading the song every measure...
:D fun stuff.
yeah ive been involved in a lot of this before. the reason why its 24 bars is that you have at least a chance to write a passage or melody rather than stick in a couple of notes. it starts to become random. here you listen to the previous bars and you are influenced by the feel often having you to adapt to a new kind of music you have bnever composed beofre. yes i do agree its a load of fun if you can get a good community of people (which i am plugging to do) the intro is up on the site now http://www.fullf1.com music section. Who will he the first to write the next 24 bars. sign up on the forums and add ur comments. this can be a lot of fun.
