Performance - Multiple VB stream vs single VB stream

Hi I''m wondering if there is a lot of performance difference between these 2 methods (with D3D but it should be the same with ogl) 1- Sending all vertices component through one big stream with all the geometry needed (position, normal textcoord etc in a same struct) 2- Set multiple streams, one by component (one for position, another for normals, etc...) I suppose all vertices component are used and are the same for the 2 methods. (My idea is that 2nd method is a bit slower but I have never really tested it because it involve a lot of change in my engine.) Many thanks Jerome
