GeForce 6800 & pixelshader related question

I have read a review about this new board and they mentioned that it stores light data in a extra buffer so they can calculate the lighting after the scene has been rendered and don t have to do all the calculations for overdraw pixels now my questions is can i access this buffer from within the pixelshaders? or does it calculate the lighting after the pixelshaders? I am asking this because that might change my renderer layout

Multiple Render Target (MRT) technology
aka deferret rendering sounds like you can t access it within a pixelshader since it s done after the rendering

maybe you can use a lighting shader? which is executed after the rendering process?
