How?: Convert gluSphere tex. coords to world coords

I am trying to figure out how to convert texture coordinates generated by gluSphere to OpenGL screen coordinates. A bit of research points to gluProject(), which takes world coordinates and converts to window coordinates. But texture coordinates arent world coordinates, and since the absolute window position of the texture coordinate in question might be affected by all kinds of transformations and such, I don''t have a clue how. I appreciate your input! -hyn
