HLSL Book
Can anybody recommend a book on HLSL? I have extensive experience with Direct3d/DirectX. I have no experience with shaders. As such, I would prefer a book focused exclusively on shaders using HLSL.
Dunno if there are any HLSL-specific books available, but a good introductory text for shaders is "The Cg Tutorial". The Cg and HLSL syntax''s are very similar. Another introductory text is "ShaderX2: Introduction to DirectX 9 Shaders" or something like that (note: not to be confused with the "ShaderX2: Tips and Techniques" book that is more advanced. Beyond that, as you advance you could check out GPU Gems, which is a great ref for advanced shading techniques, mostly using higher level languages.
Good luck!
DChavez out.

yeah, i got a HLSL book written by Kris Gray. Never really read it though. I''d recommend the Cg tutorial, it''s *much* better.
