multi texturing and cg

i''m using multi textureing in opengl to draw stuff. now i want to add cg stuff i was wondering since i''m want to use cg do i have to do the multi textureing myself in a cg program? Also when you have a fragment programe do you have to have a vertex program as well or can you just have a fragment program by itself?

Yes, you have to do multitexturing by yourself in fragment shader.
You can use fixed pipeline for vertex shader, and own fragment.
But I think it is better to use own vertex shader for readibility.
