DevIL il_wrap

I want to use DevIL''s C++ wrapper rather than the OpenGL-esque code. The problem is that when I include the il_wrap.h header and use the classes the program complains about ilu.dll not being found. I''d rather not have a dependency on this file, so is there a way to statically link the necessary libraries so that none of the DevIL DLLs are required? Thanks
