Im creating a fighting game that uses alot of the same ideas mentioned above.

Its a cell shaded 3d rpg/fighter hybrid that plays like tekken, but with a strong anime feel.
Created for 1v1 multiplayer tournaments.

Working title: Project Fighter

the main focus is on character creation and maintenence.

it features:

Fully customizable characters.

create your own fighter.
adjust skin and hair color. Model size and shape are deformable.

Equipable slots.
Add your own combat moves, purchase items, outfits, or techniques to use in combat.

A "tier" leveling system.
Basic XP leveling system with 10 lvls per tier. purchase points are awarded upon level up and can be used to purchase items, moves, or upgrade your stats str, con, & spd.

Interactive environment.
useable props, simple obstacles, and terain differentials create tactical fight situations.

If anyone here is remotely interested in checking it out email me at pristonpass@hotmail.com and ill send you the official PF explained document.

BTW: im looking for volenteers to help with the project.

Fighting games are competitive. And the most annoying thing in competitive games is when some 12 yr old button masher can beat a hardcore tournament champion.

"Serious" fighting game players may cringe at the thought, but Smash Brothers, with it's kiddie exterior, is one of the few fighting games in which a button masher simply cannot win against a pro. Heck, the button masher will more likely kill themselves than land a single hit on the pro.

I really think that the fighter genre has a lot to learn from Smash Bros.
