How to make a setup that supports patches?

a patch is usually just replacing game files that have changed since the last patch

when you are making changes to the game then you need to keep track of what files have been affected.

Then the simplest way would be to put the changed files in a zip file and have the user download it and then unzip to the game directory letting the new files overwrite the old files.
