Hi there, I''m doing a little experiment, and I want to be able to change directX settings when other applications (nameably unreal tornament 2004). For instance, I want it to split the screen in 2 and render the same image twice, one in each half of the screen. Its too complicated to explain why on earth I would ever want to do that, so I wont. But i know Fraps for instance records DirectX when other apps are using it, so was wondering if i needed a simular technique. Any ideas, Thanks Yratelev

I think that kind of change would have to be written into the game's source.

It's one thing to view the contents, it's another thing to understand another program and change it. How would you deal with the change in aspect ratio, for example?

you can determine if an application is using Directx if you measure the threads that are using the d3d9.dll.
But for a specific application or game,I don't know how this can be detected (but it is possibel, since some drivers of cheating IHVs detects games and benchmarks to make specific optimizations for them).
