Very quick SDL Q.

Do I need to call SDL_FreeSurface on every surface I create, even the screen? If not, which surfaces do I not need to call it for?

FreeSurface() just deletes the surface when you are done with it. If you done, be sure to free it or you get memory leaks. The screen you should leave alone. When you exit SDL, SDL closes up all that for you.
