Polygon Normal help

Hi. In my 3d program i have polygons made from 3 points to form a triangle. These points have no angles. How do i get the normal for these polygons. Im confused by the tutorials.

Take the first two sides of the triangle as vectors, for example, if the triangle looks like ABC clockwise from the outside of the object, take two vectors A -> B and B -> C, and find the cross product of them.

This will be a normal - depending on what you want to use it for you may have to normalise it.
