Hi, I tried the 3ds loader on gametutorial to load 3ds exported models by 3D Studio Max 6 but the result is weird; for example a car is displayed with the four wheels shifted ahead of the body and the texture is not displayed even though the size is a power of two. Does anyone experienced this ? Colossus Mizio, a proxy scanner hunter tool with GUI for Linux http://mizio.sourceforge.net

I came acros same problem a few days ago. I didn''t figure out how to solve it in my loader but I suspect the 3ds exporter in 3dsMAX is flawed becouse I tried exporting same model with a few other converters and they all worked ok. Download deep exploration demo and try with that. I also don''t know how to make a model like this. All the things I did exported just fine.

So, you think the problem is the 3ds studio max exporter, not the code on gametutorial, right ?

I hope so.

I also found the same problem. Make the model in Max 6, export to .3ds, and things are wrong. A solution, is to import the (exported .3ds) model into milkshape, fix it there, and re-export. It's a real pain in the ass. The problem seems to be with cloning / mirroring in Max, which seems to get wrongly exported. However, Milkshape correctly loads the meshes, so you can simply select / mirror them there.

[edit] p.s. or write your own exporter, which I intend to do once I get VC++.net.
