Hello, im using visual c++ .NET for a project where im loading the name of a bitmap file using fread (and using fwrite to save it). for some reason, it only works in debug mode. when i try running the .exe from outside of visual studio, it wont work. ive made sure all the bitmaps were in the right place. i made it pop up a window with the name of the file it was trying to read but it was just blank. anyone know why its trying to load a blank file name when im not running it from visual studio? thanks for the help

Based on all the information you''ve provided, I''ve come to the conclusion that I have no idea why ''it was just blank''.

Make sure that

1. Your bitmaps are in the same directory as the executable (unless you have the path set in your code somehow differently)

2. That, if you''re compiling a release, both release and debug mode dependencies are set to include the necessary libraries.

1. Make sure you not use "assert" in the programme;

2. Check the "release" directory contains the bitmap;
