I'm looking to create a game similar to Birth of the Federation by Microprose. Does anybody know of any good tutorials that can help me out? I'm not using hex tiles or isometrics and the combat will be 3D. Planet info screens will most likely have a 3D planet displayed. Think of it as a mix of BOTF and MOO3. Thanks. Edit: I'm using C++. Well, you won''t be finding any "How To Program Turn Based Strategy Games" tutorials lying around. It''s best to look at other projects doing the same thing. You might find more success helping one of those other projects instead of going it alone. Here''s one you ought to check out, created as a backlash to the failure of MOO3, and has an active community:
