I''ve been a C coder for years and I just got into actionscript. Too many times I''ve tried to run something that didn''t work because of a typo with a variable. In actionscript, unlike C, you need not declare variables before using them. This, what seemed to be an advantage, has been kicking my ass for the past couple weeks. Anyone have a solution or a way to make the script only allow explicit variable declarations?

I dunno if you know JavaScript, but AS is almost exactly like it (OOP is the same but uses a slightly different declariation syntax)

Anyways- I don''t know if you know about the trace() function but that''s probably your best bet. If you pass it an undefined variable it''ll print out "undefined", so you won''t get nipped in the arse

Me, and 4 of my classmates, had the exact same problem. Thus renaming ActionScript to ActionShit.

I''ll leave it at that.
