Texture problem

Hey guy ! i need for a little help. I'', making a 3d engine (you can find some stuffs about it on my web page), but i have a problem on texture mapping. I applied the textures as in the Nehe animated FLAG example. The problem is that if i use high values on texture position (for tiling on poligons), the texture are distorted. How can i generate texture coordinates in a range (0...1, not 0.....10000000 !! , without using high values (the position must be set to 0 when it gains the maximum value, the end of the bitmap) ?
