I like your Landscape Renderer very much but how do I make RAW images for it?? The GIMP doesn''t export RAW.. Maybe it''s a good idea to use TGA''s instead of RAW?? (btw. I can''t use PSP, too expensive )

Geez, a whole thread on me, I''m honoured

Thanks for trying it I must admit the user-interface still leaves very much to be desired, but I''m working on it. There''s already a better version. I''ll upload it in a few minutes.

Constructive comment is always welcome
So - good idea - also supporting TGA''s for loading those 8bit maps. I''ll implement it ASAP!

Thanks again.

Cool, more features!

"Geez, a whole thread on me, I''m honoured "
Yeah, this prog deserves a whole thread..
Hmm, can''t they make a forum for this prog??

I''ll keep commenting on this great looking program.

Geez

Ok, you can now load 24bit TGA images, into the 8bit maps. You can also load 8bit RAW images into 24bit textures...

I''ve uploaded updated version on my homepage, and here on gamedev. (thu-31-aug)

Comment is always welcome, so what''s next...

A texture generator...good idea I''ll add it to my wish list

But it has to wait a little longer fore implementation. At the moment I''m trying to get the user-interface to work 100% with all features you could possibly think of. This is taking more time than expected, but I''ll get there

For the moment, you could try downloading Aarbei Texture Gevaarte II. You can generate lot''s of 256x256x24bit uncompressed TGA images with it I personally like the ATG2 very much

Today I''ve updated the Landscape Renerer, and added some textures & maps. After downloading this version - just hit the "play/render" button, and wait a minute...voila...your landscape If you''re really interrested, you must try out this version!

I got an error when downloading Aardbei Texture Gevaarte (hmm, I like aardbeien )

Wow, it''s looking cooler every day!
Please let me know when there''s a new version.

btw. It seems that your renderer has been d''loaded for 1100 (!) times, I''m impressed!

Thanks again man, (where''s that smiley?) ...
Shame about that ATG thing
Didn''t have much time today, but new updates will soon follow.
1100 times - whoaw - must be an error? But if it''s true, never thought it would come to that ... The user-interface isn''t even properly working...yet...

I''ve got an infection at the moment, and been given some heavy medication. I''m not really feeling sick orso, it''s just a little troublesome - and I can''t drink Maybe I''ll stay at home this weekend and programmm...

Sorry zedzeek I just can''t stop smiling - got my own thread you know
"gezellig"...! You got a Dutch relative or something? Fun

Sorry, the previous upload to gd went wrong somehow...
If you downloaded from gamedev, you probably got a very old version. Now it's oke though.
The latest version should be a bit more than 600K. With this version you will have immediate result!

Added to latest version: Load/Save projects. Render & save to any size, as 24bit uncompressed TGA. Standard project with textures & maps included. Improved some other stuff as well.

I''ve renamed it to "DreamScape". I know it''s a little lame, but it was the best I could come up with today...

richardve: You also very old - by the look of your post What is this for strange kind of error?

lol!
GDN isn''t 2000-proof.

Maybe "DreamGenerator" is a nice name?

Have you thought about including objects in the scene?

i''ve made a simple texture generator which i''d like to show you
btw if anyone wants the demo of that prog (dos) i''ll upload it an give a url

omg! i just looked at the info (while downloading) it''s very similar to a voxel type program i''m working on! (first semi 3d engine, all i know is vb)

your program has MANY of the exact features mine has (except mine is very limited (only simulated 3d, must add more stuff) )
i look foward to speaking to you in either e-mail or (if you use) icq.

Does it run under win98SE/2000?
If it does, please upload it.

Bas:

Thanks for mentioning me on your site!

ok, heres the link: right now i don't have a page for it, i'll put one up in the next few mins. btw the texgen i mentioned was made in vb (yuk) and may require some other files (dll, ocx, vxd),
i also see it as somewhat limited in what type of textures it can create (i should probably add somemore options, stratified, more color options exc.)

baskuenen,

Can you please add 1 or 2 example terrains to your program or
maybe as a separate download if they are large files? I can''t
seem to create anything with it and I want to know what something
looks like.

I don''t mean a final rendered output or image, I mean an example
file that you can actually load into this program. Nothing is
rendering for me. Maybe my computer is too slow.
