Need specs on ASE file format..

I''ve got most of it down but am missing a few details..anyone know where I can find the specs on ASE files? "Like all good things, it starts with a monkey.."

IIRC the normals in this format behave starngely because of the vertice order of a face. sometimes its clockwise + sometimes itsanticlockwise winding

I''ve picked apart the format well enough to load the geometry, textures, UV coords, etc...I was just curious about the animations..the maxsdk docs state that the only avalable documentation on the ASE format was in the src for the export functions, I was hoping there might be ''the unoffical specs'' out there somewhere..random-nomad, I did check out the link but it''s only the basics..
