This is a little more difficult than you''d initially imagine. There don''t seem to be many open source example on how to do this that are light enough to prove as an example.
(ie I found a few mp3 players like freeamp but thats overkill.)

Try the golgotha source... THats what I''ll be using when I get around to it...

If you want some source code, I found AMP1.1 easy to understand.


Somebody even made a library out of it...


If you want a cool library, which is very easy to use, then I can also recommend fmod (www.fmod.org) ... unbeatable in speed ... and going cross-platform (a linux port is in the works).

Well, this should serve all your MP3 playing needs...

ya, definitely go with fmod, everybody loves it. it''s fast and easy. i put mp3 musics in my game in less than hour and the game keeps running smoothly.
