Your City/County Building, Records Division. Cost varies from place to place but usually around $10.00. This is for a sole-proprietary. A Partnership, LLC, Corporation require much more time & money. If you want the .inc, you'd better have a lawyer do it.

Hope this helps...

Anyone know where to register a company name, and how much it costs. (Hopefully not too much $$$) Thanks

There are a number of things that you have to do to really secure a company. The first is usually getting a fictious business name in your local area. Then you need to actually form your company (out of a large variety of choices), there are a lot of places on the net that help you with this and do it for you (with some $)
.

Then you need to get your business name trademarked, which can be done at the USPTO (www.uspto.gov).
