irrlicht - how to load a zbuffer?

Hi! Well, perhaps some guy can help me with this one. I want to create a 3d in 2d game. Now, how do I copy the depth buffer file (a file which I´ve created with 3ds max) into the game-depth buffer of the irrlicht engine? so, 1. load the file .. 2. copy it into the zbuffer .. 3. be happy :-) Is there a way of copying the mesh (.x or anything else) into the depth buffer. Please tell me which commands and functions I´ve got to use. Thanks for your help!
