newbie problem about 2Dquad, 3Dscene with directX

Hi ya, ¡@¡@With the help of Jim's book, I managed to make a game with 2D quad in 3D background.(just like Ragnarok-online style) ¡@¡@However, I still can't handle with the question of LOS...~~! (As shown in the picture below) It seems that the 2D sprite cannot detect the 3D mesh and being rendered at the center all the time!!! I 've no ideas in it > < ¡@¡@Can anybody tell me which method should I use? (Are there any method to check the vertex and pixel or sth like that...?) Many Thx
