DePaul University is offering a new game development curriculum. As a part of that game development curriculum, DePaul's gaming club, DeFrag, which focuses on game development is building a new game lab with generous grants from Chicago-based businesses (and several other resources). That was a mouthful! Anyways, we were hoping to get a console development kit in our game lab. GBA development tools and hardware has already been green-lighted. I know that console Dev kits are typically only given to licensed developers. Has anyone heard about educational institutes (other than DigiPen) receiving access to legit X-Box, PS2, or GameCube Dev kits for game development? Thank you for any input, Peter Bennett

I recall several places in the UK getting access to devkits. (i forget which kind. gamecube maybe?). of course, i assume a handful of universities have ps2linux kits.

it certainly would be beneficial for those learning to be able to use the same hardware that professionals use.
