Hello out there ! i almost finished my 3d battle ship project. maybe you can test it and tell me your impressions. what do you think about putting it on shareware marked ? I like the game a lot. However, some feedback:

1. I think it's obvious the computer cheats. I played quite a few times and I saw him win very too fast each time. I could never get close.

2. The computer predictibly puts some of the ships on the corners. Firing at the corners first always yields 2-3 ship hits. However, doesn't help when the computer wins so fast :)

Good game but I did encounter 1 bug. My aircraft carrier was hit 3 times but for some reason the 3rd hit the square was coloured as miss and treated as one for the AI didn't fire the shot to finish the ship off.

One other thing is that the smoke comes from the back of the ship meaning that if you hit the front you can tell which way to move for the next shot from where the smoke is coming from.

Hello !

first of all thank you very much for taking so much attention.


Belive me the computer dosnt cheat at all. Ai plays like me :) first search
randomly for a Hit than take care to sink that ship.


You can rotate your Ship by pressing the right mouse button.


thank you for the bug report. I will work on it.


What do you think about the worth of that game.
i really dont know if i should try to bring it
on shareware marked ? and if so, how shall i do that.

plz apologise my bad english.

Very well produced and polished. I like the way the camera panning back and forth adds the feeling of 'action' to what's otherwise a simple game.

All you need now is for the ability to set up your own servers and you're set.

Again, well done on this game, it's excellent [smile]

You could not start the multiplayer because i got my private server down. I am only a student so unfortunately i cant afford a main server which is permanently connected to inet but i will keep my server running maybe during the weekend.

Everybody will be able to download a "small" server program. which will connect to a master server. each "small" server is able to handle up to 300 Players/150 games.

this master server got the list of all active servers in the net.
as a client you press the refresh button and you will see these active servers. than you only have to connect one of these servers.

if you would like to play on a lan you can manually set the ip/port address and you're done.
i think this is the way that other programs do like bf ?

what do you mean on rather expireware ?

i will set a link to the "small" server for download.
maybe we will see us as opponents in a battle ? :)

thx for helping me find bug regarding the multiplayer section.

i uploaded a new version for both client/ server !!!!

the multiplayer should work now .... hopefully !
and you are also able to chat during the match !

Guten Tag,

What he means by 'expireware' is that the software should expire after a certain time, meaning that if people want to play it again they should pay your shareware cost.

I think your game's good enough to pay for as it stands, but some people will perhaps want a few more features.

What I'd do (if it were my game), would be to disable the network play (or at least limit it to a couple of turns or something) in the free demo. You could then send the user either the full game or a special 'unlock code' to get access to the crippled features. Then again, you could trust people to pay for the software and not cripple any features. It's entirely up to you.

for the final version there will be a lot of extra features like different battle places and themes.
We will working on them and also build a website for it.

Hi !

these are quite small information.
You need a 3d graphics adapter which supports directx 8.0

i got a athlon 800 and a geforce2 card and it works well
