What do you feel is lacking from game stories?
Just a quick correction FF5 was a game not released in NA until the Playstation. FF4 was the same as FF2(NA)

I own every Final Fantasy (up to FFX.. didn't like what the new game designer was trying to do) on Gameboy, NES, SNES, Playstation, and Playstation 2.
On SNES in NA there was
FF: Mystic Quest
FF2
FF3
On Playstation (Using the numbers given to the PS games with the SNES numbers if different)
FF4 (FF2)
FF5(This one had a job system similar to FFTactics)
