Drawing in DX onto the desktop ....

Hi Guys, just wondering if it is possible to draw using DirectX onto the desktop or appear to be doing so. In other words is it possible to create a window that is transparent and use DirectX to draw. At the moment whenever I have my DX program running, it draws onto a black screen. I know that when using GDI graphics, I can create my window to have no background brush by doing this: winclass.hbrBackground = NULL; and that works, but with DirectX it does not, its like DirectX puts a black screen there for you. What can I do? Thanks in advance for your help. DarkStar UK
