getting the current installed SP?

Theres probably a less hacky way, but you can use GetVersionEx() to get the OS version, and the szCSDVersion member of the OSVERSIONINFO structure you pass to the function is filled with the current service pack string (E.g. "Service Pack 4").

GetVersionEx really helped me out...
I was thinking of getting the name from the "Add/Remove Programs" list, but it is way much easier, and, well, better :).
