Has anyone read this new book from O'reilly? Is it worth buying it? I'm relatively new to AI (just some knowledge about pathfinding)

I'm only on page 87 but I think it's worth it so far. Even though I opted for a later arrival date to avoid shipping costs it still came early(I got it from Amazon.com). To have a better idea of what's in the book, you can download the examples from
http://examples.oreilly.com/ai/Examples.zip
and the book's site at oreilly.com is
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/ai/

I browsed this book in the shop today; it looks to cover a lot of technology and has some relevant examples, which I think is important for a game AI book. However it seemed to only scratch the surface of each technology and refer people to online resources at that point, which is a shame. It is admittedly "for the novice AI programmer" which is fair enough.

It's pretty decent for a beginner's book. It was a lot easier to follow than Practical Neural Network Recipes in C++ (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0127848207/qid=1093634759/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl14/102-9489314-7034508?v=glance&s=books&n=507846).

I've found a bug here and there in the C++ example code and reported them to the publisher, so for now I am comparing the downloaded source to the source in the book if I'm experiencing problems getting the example source to work.

Other than that, it's a solid book.
