I have a couple of questions on the subject: 1.) Is morphing done in software? Is it basically just two vertexbuffers containing an object and a third which is blended in software from one into another? 2.) Can morphing effectively be used for mesh animation(I mean like characters) by saving a couple of keyframes in a vertexbuffer and morphing them. Is this technik any good or way to slow and jittery looking? -CProgrammer

1) Can be, although it's reasonably cheap on the GPU as well.
2) Loads of games use this method. It's simple, fast and looks good.
