Pbuffers ?

Hello I'd like to know how to use pbuffers (and what it actually is). Are there any tutorials in the Net? If so, I'd be thankful if you could give me some links. Thanks :)

they are an offscreen buffer, p-buffer standing for 'pixel buffer', most often used for render-to-texture operations, but not exclusively for that.
