I was reading through some posts about loading models and a few people said that md2 is a better format to use because of the size of the files. Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in performance as well? Which is better / worse? Jonathan

File size is not responsible of degradation of performance in a strict rendering sense , md2 models are compiled to be rendered using triangle strips and fans, 3ds models are made of triangles, smoothing group and whatever , when you load a 3ds model its up to you to optimize it for rendering, md2 models are already optimized.
