Questions about alpha map

I'd like to fade out a tex in a model. I've got a tex which hasn't got any alpha channel. My alpha map format is D3DFMT_A8. I use this code in effect file : tex1 is the alpha tex Texture[0] = <tex0>; ColorOp[0] = Modulate; ColorArg1[0] = Texture; ColorArg2[0] = Diffuse; AlphaOp[0] = SelectArg1; AlphaArg1[0] = Current; Texture[1] = <tex1>; AlphaOp[1] = Modulate; AlphaArg1[1] = Texture; AlphaArg2[1] = Current; AlphaOp[2] = Disable; ColorOp[1] = Disable; And it seems the tex isn't fading. What am i doing wrong ?
