Fragment Linker

I've tried to implement fragment linking under DirectX 9.0c and has some problems with it. First - 2 simple fragments: //---------------------------- // Input Pixel Fragment //---------------------------- void psInput(float4 inColor : COLOR0, out float4 outColor : r_Color) { outColor = inColor; } pixelfragment psInputFragment = compile_fragment ps_2_0 psInput(); //---------------------------- // Output Pixel Fragment //---------------------------- void psOutput(float4 inColor : r_Color, out float4 outColor : COLOR0) { outColor = inColor; } pixelfragment psOutputFragment = compile_fragment ps_2_0 psOutput(); Generated code: // // Generated by Microsoft (R) D3DX9 Fragment Linker // // flink /E psInputFragment /E psOutputFragment /T ps_2_0 // /Fx common.fga common.fg // ps_2_0 dcl v0 mov r0, v0 mov oC0, r0 // approximately 2 instruction slots used Why not mov oC0, v0? Microsoft promises "Register use optimization"... Second - this fragments cannot be gathered for ps_1_x target. Compiler quits with error: error X4502: invalid output semantic 'r_Color' error X2903: There was an error compiling the fragment 'psInputFragment' So, ps_1_x not supported? Or did I miss something? Thanks
