OpenGL sample game?
Hi guys,
Does anyone know of any open-source game built with opengl? Much as I like learning on my own, I like to learn by example too, so I want to see some code. Preferably something that's already complete, even if it's just a simple game, and also preferably something that's for win32. Any one got any leads?
Thanks!
Roy
I don't know of any actual games, but there's lots of tutorials out there that are really good. 2 good examples are:

I think the Quake 1 and 2 engines are open-source, and available on the iD Software website. However, I definitely wouldn't recommend learning from those - they're not designed to be easy to understand, they're designed to be fast. If you want to try making a full game first, it might be better to start with a 2D one. Making it 3D works exactly the same except you use different functions to draw objects.
see the sdl website , they have many games some using opengl (ive never checked them out though perhaps they come with source)
My game Wizard Duel 2 has source with it if you're interested. It's in the contests area under 4 elements III.
well, here are three other good ones i know about from linux,
but there are ports for the windows platform as well:
neverball
trackballs
tuxracer
i guess that'll keep you busy for a while :)
