I'm working on an MFC (SDI) DX9 application that displays primitives in a "graphics view". I've recently noticed a strange anomaly. It happens in two scenarios: 1. I draw some primitives on the screen. I tell MFC I want to start a new document, so, the code clears the graphics view. If I immediately follow it with another request for a new document, the view clears and then presents the previously drawn primitives. 2. I draw some primitives on the screen. I close the application and restart. When the application restarts, the previously drawn primitives "flash" on the screen, and then the view is cleared. Is there some kind of weird buffering going on here? Is the video card doing something I'm not aware of?
