Batching Really Does Work!!

Not that i ever doubted u guys. In an earlier post i was saying how i was getting 41fps when drawing 6000 vertices. Now i can draw 30000 vertices at about 241fps, i still dont know whether this is any good and this isnt for vertices that can be altered on the fly but supposing it was for a terrain i dont think its too bad. A quick word on my methods. 1. Load in descriptions of quads from a file at startup. 2. Sort them according to the texture only (for now :P) 3. Have a 'index' linked list that is run through per frame and indicates which vertices for draw primitive to draw. 4. Batch the nodes in this list together so instead of having 10 nodes saying draw 2 primitives, i have 1 node saying draw 20, as an example. ace
