Hi I posted it on Beginner forum but nobody answer, maybe this is better place. So, this is my problem. In the near future I wanna find job in games industry. Currently my main focus area are simulations: particles, rigid body dynamics, fluids and mel, and I use Maya for that. I wonder is game industry need people who know something about that stuff or rather not? Is game companies use Maya and need people with this knowledge? Is game companies use Maya for particles or dynamics? Should I stay with Maya+particles or rather start to learn C++? Is it worth stay with Maya or rather not? Specially I would like to make VFX for consoles like PS2 or Nintendo. Greetz

I don't believe any of those are useable in-game, except for prerendered video. If you want a job using Maya, I would guess that you'd need to learn other things like modeling and character animation.
So, what do you think about it:

They look for particle specialist, therefore I wondered if apps like Maya are good for that.
I guess some people do want to hire a particle specialist.

I'm still not sure that Maya particle systems and such can actually be used in a video game, but I'm sure you can practice the artistic side through maya. I would definitely learn scripting in Maya too, if you haven't already, because that's how you get the full control and flexibility from the software.

Can't Maya's particles be exported and save as C++ code, through M.E.L and Maya's API?
Now that you mention it, I wouldn't be too surprised. That's what I'm talking about- the power of scripting. You can do a lot with M.E.L. it seems.
I found this on EA website:

What do you think about it? Look cool. I've never thought that Maya's Fluids also can be used is games.
Artist who know scripting are good to have. They can work more closely with programmers to get tools the other artist need to simplify the workflow.

Well, I'm convinced.

Edit:(refering to the EAGames video)
