Using DirectShow to cut portion of a video frame???

"cut frames"? as in remove them from a stream?

DirectShow is a very powerful (if ugly and difficult to use) API and you can probably do what you want with it.

However, its emphasis is on playback of video streams (and such like) - not so much on editing movies and saving back to disk. I might be wrong, but I don't remember seeing much about saving/recompressing back to a file.

Yeap...
Cut frames as in removing from a stream....in .avi and .mpeg format.
I dun tik DirectShow has this function,do they?

Sori...wad i meant was if the video is too long then i need to cut a portion out.
But DirectShow dont seem to be able to do that,do they
Or wad can i use to do such editing?
