walk sequence

im creating a walk sequence in maya like frames 1-100 stand(w/ little animation) frames 101-150 walk step cycly frames 151-200 run step sycle How can i tell to directx to play only frames 101-150.

It depends on how you're rendering the animation.

I'm assuming you're either using different texures or (preferably) using the same texture and changing the coordinates.

But the best thing to do is (if using one of the above methods) to just skip over the rest of the frames:
drawAnimation(){
sprite->draw(frameNum);
frameNum++;

if(frameNum > maxFrame){
frameNum = minFrame;
};
};
or something along those lines.
