zip compression

If you only want to decompress and don't care about writing the algorithms yourself, you could use zlib. It comes with an unzip sample.

Google for the deflate and inflate algorithms which is the underlying algorithms used by zlib.

If you download the source package for zlib it has a txt file outlining the algorithms which may be of some use otherwise there's bound to be plenty of resources elsewhere if you search for them.

Seconded. zlib is pretty easy to use, and comes with a several samples.
