exporting .3ds

I want to thank you guys who helprd me in my previous post now the problem seems to have passed. But another has just reared its head. I syccessfully export my maya in to obj and from that export to .3ds using deep exploration. In 3dmax I set up skeleton ,set keys etc. and now my model can move! but the problem is when I export those files back in to .3ds format and watched it on deep ex only the bones moved and in quite a peculiar way as well can anyone help me with this problem? thank you
