I'm working on a basic framework which i can use in all my (little) game projects. Now i've come to a point where i want some basic utilities to help me in debugging my applications. So far i've created a basic exception class with the following features: - Log a text message - Log a HRESULT and get it's name and description. ( used for DirectX and Windows functions) - Log text AND a HRESULT - Keeps track of source file, function and line nr. - Keeps track of the time This is all great and i guess i can use this class for event / error logging as well, as it provides all the event information i need. I've also made: - a memory logger - a call stack - a profiler - a log class with html ouput Now my real question is, what tools have you created to make your debugging life easier? Please explain which features each tool has and how the different tools work together / rely on each other. How far do you go in creating debugging tools?
