Nvidia Cg, summing columns of a matrix

Is there any way to add the columns of a float4x4 matrix into a float4 vector? for example, I want for float4x4 t, t._m00 + t._m10 + t._m20 + t._m30 and so on for the other 3 columns in the matrix. I've tried adding the regular old C way, by just using the swizzle ._m00 and so on, but I'm using the fp30 profile and I run out of registers. Can anyone help?
