Hi, i am a little confused when converting a vertex to tangent space for bump mapping. I understand (i think) how to construct the TBN matrix to do this, but im not sure how to calculate the tangent vector. A lot of examples use the texture coords, why is this?? cheers, i suck at math! Muncher

From what I understand, if you have the TBN matrix you can just transform the vector by that matrix to get it into tangent space. The reason you see the texture coords a lot is because tangent space is just another term for texture space.
